Jazz To Moon Base Two!

I recently got to watch The Transformers Movie. No not the ones by Michael Bay, though I do like them, but the old animated movie released in the eighties. It was shocking, gritty, dark, tragic and definitely not for kids oddly enough. I don’t know how the kids back then could watch a 90 minute cartoon with all their favorite characters being slaughtered, while their roles have been replaced by new characters that seem to be a selfish marketing move to promote Hasbro’s new third generation toys. Seriously they almost killed Jazz. If they did I would of thrown my dummy out of the pram.

Despite this, the movie soundtrack kicks arse! Vince Dicola did a fantastic job creating the mood for countless scenes, though I did find some aspects of the pieces quite depressing. The classic keyboard, echoing drumming and pleasing guitar riffs is what make the soundtrack memorable.
